On November 14, 2024, Boton welcomed esteemed guests from the other side of the world: Mauricio Acuna Sapunar, Chief Procurement Officer of Chile's National Copper Corporation (CODELCO), and Nicolas Urzua Contreras, Emerging Markets Director, along with their team. This visit aimed to deepen the collaboration between the two parties and explore potential opportunities in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.

Just one day earlier, Boton representatives attended CODELCO's Shanghai Supplier Annual Meeting, where Mr. Mauricio presented Boton with the "Outstanding Supplier Award in the Conveyor Belt Sector." This honor recognized Boton's remarkable contributions and achievements over the past decade in the conveyor belt field. It is a testament to Boton's continuous efforts in technological innovation, product quality improvement, and customer service excellence, as well as its key role in advancing the industry's progress and sustainability. Currently, Boton’s products support all seven of CODELCO’s copper mines in Chile, adding value by enhancing operational efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

Mr. Bao Zhifang, Chairman of Boton, personally welcomed the delegation and accompanied them on tours of the Hongshan Smart Industrial Park and the Zhanggong Headquarters' Intelligent Product R&D Center. Both parties expressed great confidence and enthusiasm for future collaboration. In particular, Boton and CODELCO aim to strengthen cooperation in ESG fields to jointly promote sustainable development.

As one of the world’s largest copper producers, CODELCO imposes rigorous sustainability standards on its supply chain. In recent years, it has also raised expectations for supplier safety, innovation, and social responsibility. Boton has gained CODELCO’s long-standing trust through its advanced technologies and products in integrated smart mining operations, as well as its deep commitment to ESG principles and practices.

Notably, Boton has the capability to supply ST10000 ultra-high-performance steel cord conveyor belts to CODELCO's Chuquicamata mine, the only mine globally utilizing ST10000-grade belts. During their visit, Mauricio and his team inspected Boton’s ST10000 samples and received an in-depth briefing on the company’s R&D and validation plans for this product line.

As the world’s largest copper-producing country, Chile has always been a cornerstone of Boton’s globalization strategy. Boton’s conveyor belt products and intelligent monitoring systems have a strong reputation in Chile’s mining market. This visit by CODELCO's leadership not only deepened their partnership but also added new dimensions to Boton’s role in the Chilean and global mining industries. Boton remains committed to leveraging its innovative technologies and products to provide safer, more efficient, and smarter conveying solutions for global mining customers. At the same time, it actively fulfills its ESG responsibilities, contributing to sustainable development worldwide!
